Item upgrades
Item upgrades sims the ways to spend your crests on your equipped gear and ranks them by DPS. It reads your crests from the SimC addon, since the Armory doesn't show them.
Run Best in bags first and equip what it finds, so your crests go on items you'll keep. Items in your bags aren't simmed here.
Set it up
- Paste the string under Paste your SimC addon string.
- Under Your crests, change a balance to see what you could upgrade with more crests, or set one to 0 to leave that crest out.
- Choose Start sim.
Each way to spend your crests is an option. Every option spends as many as it can, and finishes one item before it starts the next. More crests and more items to upgrade make more options, and a longer sim.
Read the results
Each row is an option, ranked by DPS against Equipped gear, with the crests it spends. An option with no crests to spend says Free steps only. Pick a row and Upgrades lists each item it upgrades, what that costs and the step it reaches, with the crests the option leaves. Gear shows the option on your character.
Options land close together, since each spends as many crests as it can, so many share a rank. Any option in the top rank is a good upgrade.
A step is free when you've already had an item at that item level in the slot, and every option takes it. An item that costs nothing shows Free. When free steps cover part of an item, the full price is struck through beside what you pay, so you can check it in game.
