How class guides work

Noxxic has published World of Warcraft class guides since February 2011. There’s a PvE guide for all 40 specs across the 13 classes, updated for Patch 12.1.5. Each one covers stat priority, gems and enchants, consumables and talent builds, and every DPS and tank guide adds its rotation and best-in-slot gear.

DPS and tank guides come from SimulationCraft, the same simulation engine theorycrafters and top guilds use. Each spec is simmed on its SimC profile, and simmed again whenever a patch, a hotfix or a SimC update changes the results. Every guide’s Methodology section names the SimC build, fight and item level behind its numbers.

SimC is a DPS simulator, so the healer guides follow the gear, gems and talent builds of the top Mythic+ healers instead.
