Frost Mage

PvE guide, updated for Patch 12.1.5

Gems & Enchants

To fully maximize your end-game performance, it’s important to take advantage of all enchants and gem any available socket. The following recommendations are calculated based on the stat weights in this guide.

Mode
Rotation

Gems

Enchants

Preferential marks a slot whose enchants add nothing these weights can measure, such as Leech or Speed, so pick the one you want.

Helm enchants

Shoulders enchants

Chest enchants

Leg enchants

Boot enchants

Ring enchants

Weapon enchants

How these gems and enchants are ranked

No gem or enchant here was simmed on its own. Each option’s gain is its stats times the stat weights, as a share of the damage the Frost Mage profile did against Single Target. That makes it an estimate, so read two options a few hundredths of a percent apart as equal. A weapon enchant’s stats come from a proc, so they count for the 58% of the fight its buff is up.

An option whose effect isn’t a stat, such as a damage proc, has no estimate: the weights can’t see it. Some carry a note on what they do instead. The values follow the weights, so they move when your gear does. A Stat weights sim values every option against your own character.

Only need the gems and enchants?

Sim your highest-DPS gems and enchants on your own gear, for the mode and rotation style you play.
