Noxxic 2.0
We've rebuilt the site, and almost every part of it got a second look. Thanks to everyone who used the previous versions and everyone who tested this new one. We're pretty excited about the improvements we were able to make.
Rather than reinvent anything, we improved what Noxxic already did, and leaned harder into the features we care most about. While we introduced many new features, we'll keep this entry short and cover some familiar areas you'll notice changes.
Spec rankings
DPS and tank rankings run on simplified SimC profiles now. We removed the raid events and fight styles that not every spec supports, so the comparison across specs is fairer than it was. Most lists also run each spec's top talent builds for the fight rather than the talents its profile ships with, so the AoE lists compare specs on their AoE builds. That moved a lot of specs at once, and it's a change of method rather than a balance shift.
On the page, you can filter by spec or by melee and ranged, switch between modes and item levels more easily, and inspect the SimC profile that initialized each run.
Class guides
We simulate each spec in more builds before recommending one. The rotation guide is redesigned and based on the actual SimC APLs, and it includes a sample opener, cooldown usage, and the DPS difference of playing with Assisted Highlighted enabled or with One Button.
Character guides
New. A character guide is the easy guide experience, but the data behind it is simmed from your own character. You don't need to know anything about SimC, and with weekly updates on, it refreshes itself after each reset.
Character sims
The previous site made typical SimC tasks easy: it configured the sim for your characters and ran SimC in the cloud. That's all still here, and we improved every step of it.
Setting up a sim is shorter, and you see the gear and talents it will run before you start. Sim modes replace the old fight profiles and show the SimC settings they use, and at Tier 3 you can make your own. Item sims can raise an item to its maximum item level first, or as far as your crests can pay for, and the Item upgrades sim ranks the ways to spend those crests. Best in bags can also try the pieces your catalyst charges would convert into your tier set. While a sim runs, you can watch what's happening inside it. And the report has better charts, more detail, and larger build pools behind Best build and Best spec, with error bars and ties shown as ties.
More information and more control, without giving up the simplicity.
In closing
Thanks for reading this far. Go sim something, and tell us what you think.
