# Best in bags and Best in vault

**Best in bags** finds the set of items you own that does the most damage. **Best in vault** sims each of this week's Great Vault choices. Both read your items from [the SimC addon](https://www.noxxic.com/docs/simc-addon), since the Armory doesn't show bags or the vault.

## Set it up

1. For Best in vault, open the Great Vault before you export.
2. Paste the string under **Paste your SimC addon string**.
3. For Best in bags, open **Choose bag items** to change which items it sims.
4. To sim items higher up their track, choose **Affordable** or **Max** for **Upgrade level** under **Extra options**.
5. For Best in bags, set **Catalyst charges** under **Extra options** to how many items a set may convert into tier pieces. Best in vault reads the charges from your export.
6. Choose **Start sim**.

**Max** takes each item to the top of its track. **Affordable** takes it as far as your crests pay for that item alone, counting free steps, so a set can need more crests than you hold. [Item upgrades](https://www.noxxic.com/docs/item-upgrades) ranks the ways to spend what you do hold.

## Read the results

Each row is a set of items, or a vault choice, ranked by DPS against **Equipped gear**. A vault choice that fits more than one slot has a row for each, and one you could convert also has rows as the tier piece it would become, when you hold a charge. A set that converts items ends its row with the catalyst currency's icon and the number of charges it uses.

Pick a row to see it on your character, with changed slots marked. A converted item wears the same icon, which names the item it was made from. Rows that share a rank are a tie, which [Read a sim report](https://www.noxxic.com/docs/read-a-sim-report) explains.
