Level 100 Destruction Warlock Guide [PvE]

A World of Warcraft Class Guide, Updated to Patch 7.0.3

DPS Rotation & Cooldowns for Destruction Warlock in PvE | Latest Patch 7.0.3

The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

DPS Priority: Execute this priority for optimal DPS.

  1. Immolate maintained at all times.
  2. Chaos Bolt with 5 Soul Shards.
  3. Conflagrate to generate Soul Shards.
  4. Incinerate as a filler spell.

Destruction Warlock DPS depends on building Soul Shards and spending your Soul Shards with Chaos Bolt. To do this, you should begin by maintaining Immolate at all times for the random Soul Shards it generates. Then, use Chaos Bolt when you have 5 Soul Shards. Next, use Conflagrate to generate Soul Shards. Finally, cast Incinerate as your filler spell when you are waiting on other abilities.

Your default demon choice for Destruction DPS is Summon Imp.

AoE Rotation

  • Rain of Fire with 3+ Soul Shards.
  • Havoc with < 5 targets or to maintain DPS on a priority target.

With 2-3 targets, maintain the single target rotation while keeping Immolate on all targets. Use Havoc on your primary target and spend Soul Shards on Chaos Bolt for the Havoc powered cleave damage.

At 4+ targets, continue to maintain Immolate on as many targets as possible while casting Conflagrate to generate Soul Shards. Spend your Soul Shards on Rain of Fire.

Information on how to incorporate the selected talents from this guide into your rotation is currently being re-worked for 7.0.3. Check back later!
