The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

DPS Priority: Execute this priority for optimal DPS.

  1. Doom maintain at all times.
  2. Call Dreadstalkers on cooldown.
  3. Demonic Empowerment maintained at all times.
  4. Hand of Guldan to spend 4+ Soul Shards.
  5. Shadow Bolt as a filler spell and to build Soul Shards.

The Demonology DPS priority revolves around buffing your demons by maintaining Doom and using Demonic Empowerment as often as possible. Beyond this, you should use Call Dreadstalkers on cooldown to generate additional demons. Try to time Call Dreadstalkers with Demonic Empowerment. Next, spend your Soul Shards when you have 4+ on Hand of Guldan to summon even more demons. Finally, use Shadow Bolt as a filler spell and to build Soul Shards.

Your default demon choice for Demonology DPS is Summon Felguard.

AoE Rotation

The AoE rotation is similar to the single target rotation, with the notable change of using Demonwrath to build Soul Shards instead of Shadow Bolt. Otherwise, continue to the single target rotation as directed.

Information on how to incorporate the selected talents from this guide into your rotation is currently being re-worked for 7.0.3. Check back later!

    Effective Cooldowns

These are effective cooldowns to try and incorporate into most all encounters.
