Stat Priority (5.4.8)
Stats are the core of your character and how you choose to balance those stats will greatly impact the effectiveness of your Enhancement Shaman. Use this guide to select the stats that are the most important for your Shaman and learn how to prioritize those stats to optimize your performance.
Agility > Expertise (7.5%) = Melee Hit (7.5%) > Mastery > Haste > Crit
Agility Increases damage dealt by your abilities and slightly increases critical strike chance. Thanks to Mental Quickness you also gain spell power through Agility / Attack Power.
Expertise (7.5%) The Expertise cap of 7.5% (2550 Rating) will eliminate your attacks from being dodged. Having this cap and always attacking behind your target is crucial for avoiding high DPS loss. To check your Expertise, open your character panel and then check under the Melee tab for “Expertise.” Make sure it is at exactly 7.5% for your weapon(s). It is important to note that Expertise also contributes to your Spell Hit, so that at a combined 7.5% Hit and 7.5% Expertise you will also hit the 15% Spell Hit cap.
Melee Hit (7.5%) The Hit cap of 7.5% (2550 Rating) will eliminate the chance for any special ability to miss against a boss. This is the cap regardless of weapon type. Special abilities missing is the easiest way to lose DPS, so always make sure you have this cap. To check your Hit percentage, open your character panel and then check under the Melee tab for “Hit Chance” and make sure it is exactly 7.5%.
Mastery Mastery Enhanced Elements increases the damage dealt by Fire, Frost and Nature spells.
Haste Increases attack speed and reduces the casting time of spells. More frequent melee attacks help to improve the uptime on Windfury Weapon.
Crit Increases the chance for your attacks to critically hit for additional damage. More frequent crits help increase the uptime on Flurry.
