Heal Rotation & Cooldowns for Holy Priest in PvE | Latest Patch 7.0.3

Click for article on our patch 7.0.3 update progress for these guides. Pew pew!

The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

Healing Priority: Use this spell priority for single target healing.

  • Renew for low to moderate healing on as many targets as possible.
  • Prayer of Mending for low to moderate healing on as many targets as possible.
  • Heal to heal moderate to high amounts of damage.
  • Flash Heal as an emergency heal to save players facing death.
  • Holy Word Serenity as a massive emergency heal with a long cooldown.

Holy Priest single target healing follows the priority above. Use Renew and Prayer of Mending as much as possible and work your way down the priority based on the amount of damage received by your target. Heal provides strong single target healing for high amounts of damage and Flash Heal is your emergency heal. It is also important to watch for Serendipity to reduce the cooldown of Holy Word Serenity with each Heal and Flash Heal that you cast.

AoE Rotation

Renew and Prayer of Mending should be maintained on as many targets as possible during low to moderate periods of AoE healing. As AoE damage increase, you will need to use Prayer of Healing on cooldown. Holy Word Sanctify should be used as often as possible on the targets in most need of healing. Remember that Serendipity reduces the cooldown of Holy Word Sanctify with each Prayer of Healing you cast.

Talents

Information on how to incorporate the selected talents from this guide into your rotation is currently being re-worked for 7.0.3. Check back later!

    Effective Cooldowns

These are effective cooldowns to try and incorporate into most all encounters.

    • Divine Hymn Use as needed to heal major raid damage.
