Click for article on our patch 7.0.3 update progress for these guides. Pew pew!

The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

Conservation Priority: Execute the following priority for optimal DPS to conserve Mana while Evocation and Arcane Power are on cooldown.

  1. Arcane Barrage when you drop below 70% Mana.
  2. Arcane Missiles with 3 Arcane Missiles charges or 2+ Arcane Charge.
  3. Arcane Blast to build Arcane Charge.

Burn Priority: Execute the following priority for optimal DPS when Evocation and Arcane Power are available and you have 4 Arcane Charge.

  1. Evocation as needed regain Mana.
  2. Arcane Power as soon as possible.
  3. Arcane Missiles whenever available.
  4. Arcane Blast as a filler spell.

The Arcane Mage DPS priority involves cycling between a Conservation Phase and a Burn Phase based on the availability of Evocation and Arcane Power.

Execute the Conservation Phase when Evocation and Arcane Power are on cooldown. To do this, cast Arcane Barrage whenever you drop below 70% Mana and only use Arcane Missiles when it hits 3 charges or you have 2+ Arcane Charge. Finally, use Arcane Blast as a filler ability to build Arcane Charge.

Initiate the Burn Phase when Evocation and Arcane Power are available. Use Arcane Power and then use Arcane Missiles whenever it is available. Use Arcane Blast as a filler spell. Finally, use Evocation to rapidly regain Mana to prolong your Burn phase.

AoE Rotation

At <= 3 enemies, continue with the single target rotation. With 4+ enemies, continue to follow the single targer rotation, but use Arcane Explosion in the place of Arcane Blast.
