Level 100 Survival Hunter Guide [PvE]

A World of Warcraft Class Guide, Updated to Patch 7.0.3

DPS Rotation & Cooldowns for Survival Hunter in PvE | Latest Patch 7.0.3

The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

DPS Priority: Execute the following priority for optimal DPS.

  1. Explosive Trap on cooldown.
  2. Lacerate maintained at all times.
  3. Mongoose Bite dump all charges when they stack to 3.
  4. Flanking Strike on cooldown.
  5. Raptor Strike to dump any extra Focus.

Survival Hunter DPS involves the proper management of Mongoose Bite to maximize the damage bonus that it provides to itself on subsequent attacks. First, your top priority is to cast Explosive Trap on cooldown and to maintain Lacerate at all times. Next, use Mongoose Bite when it hits 3 charges and dump all charges back-to-back to benefit from Mongoose Fury. Finally, use Flanking Strike as often as possible with Raptor Strike used as your filler ability to dump any excess Focus.

AoE Rotation

The AoE rotation is similar to the single target rotation with the notable change of using Carve as your Focus dump instead of Flanking Strike and Raptor Strike. Otherwise, continue to execute the single target rotation as directed giving priority to Explosive Trap over everything else.

Talents

Information on how to incorporate the selected talents from this guide into your rotation is currently being re-worked for 7.0.3. Check back later!
