DPS Rotation & Cooldowns for Marksmanship Hunter in PvE | Latest Patch 6.0.2
Guide configurations are temporarily disabled as data is rapidly changing for 6.0.2. Configurations will be re-enabled in a few days
The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.
Single Target Rotation
DPS Rotation: Use this priority when your target is below 80% Health.
- Chimera Shot on cooldown.
- Kill Shot on targets below 20% Health.
- Aimed Shot to dump Focus.
- Steady Shot to build Focus.
The Marksmanship Hunter DPS rotation is fairly straightforward. Chimaera Shot is your top priority and should be used on coolodnw. When your target drops below 20% Health, begin using Kill Shot on cooldown. Use Aimed Shot to dump Focus and Steady Shot to build Focus. Try to stay above 35 Focus so you can cast Chimaera Shot as soon as it is available.
Note: You no longer need to modify your rotation your rotation during the effects of Careful Aim. Just continue with the standard DPS rotation at all times.
Your main source for AoE damage will be Multishot. If you are only attacking 2-3 mobs, it is usually best to just continue with the the single target rotation. Once there are 4+ mobs, spam Multishot and watch for Bombardment procs. Continue to cast Kill Shot when available and use Steady Shot as needed for Focus.
Below is advice on how to use the performance-enhancing talents that were selected in this guide.
- Dire Beast should be used as frequently as possible.
- Stampede should be used as often as possible for burst damage.
- Glaive Toss should be used on cooldown. Try to position yourself to hit as many targets as possible with Glaive Toss.
These are effective cooldowns to try and incorporate into most all encounters.
