DPS Rotation & Cooldowns for Unholy Death Knight in PvE | Latest Patch 7.0.3

Click for article on our patch 7.0.3 update progress for these guides. Pew pew!

The following rotation guide was developed through extensive simulations and play testing with the goal of keeping the guide as simple as possible without sacrificing performance. This guide also included AoE rotations and provides details on when to use special talents and cooldowns.

Single Target Rotation

DPS Priority: Execute the following priority for optimal DPS.

  1. Virulent Plague maintained at all times via Outbreak.
  2. Death Coil with Sudden Doom procs.
  3. Scourge Strike to burst Festering Wound.
  4. Festering Strike to apply Festering Wound.
  5. Death Coil to dump Runic Power.

The Unholy Death Knight priority begins with maintaining Virulent Plague at al times via Outbreak. Next, you should consume Sudden Doom procs with Death Coil. From here, if your target is suffering from Festering Wound, then you should dump Runes with Scourge Strike until no more Festering Wound remain. When your target runs out of Festering Wound, apply more via Festering Strike. Finally, use Death Coil to dump excess Runic Power.

AoE Rotation

The AoE rotation is very similar to the single target rotation with the addition of Death And Decay which you should maintain as much as possible. Remember to stand within your Death And Decay for the AoE bonus it provides to Scourge Strike.

Information on how to incorporate the selected talents from this guide into your rotation is currently being re-worked for 7.0.3. Check back later!
